 Safeguard the Children

Purpose/Mission:

The Safeguard the Children Committee was mandated by the Archdiocese and plays a crucial role in assuring that the safe environment programs, policies, and procedures related to the prevention of child sexual abuse are being implemented throughout the parish/school.

The committee, made up of parish/school volunteers and parents, the pastor, principal, Coordinator of Religious Education, and others within our parish community, work together to coordinate a wide range of matters related to creating and assuring a safe environment for the children and young people in its community.

Additionally, SGTC oversees the now mandatory VIRTUS: Protecting God’s Children and Keeping the Promise Alive trainings for adults working with youth and it monitors implementation of the Teaching Touching Safety and Good Touch Bad Touch programs offered in Religious Education and in our school.
